Arrangements for Children
Our Family Law team are experienced in working with families who are separating or divorcing where children are involved. We put your child/children at the top of our list of priorities which is why we will:
- Promote a non confrontational approach towards your partner in order to preserve your relationship so that you can continue to parent your child/children together even after your relationship has ended
- Advise you on the factors that are relevant when considering issues relating to children. Please see our Welfare Checklist.
- Advise you upon the reports of Court appointed experts and the use of independent experts where necessary, in order to reach the best solution for your children
- Help you understand what rights you and your partner have in relation to your children
- Help you understand the financial obligations you face in relation to your children
- Advise you on applications for child maintenance (where the CSA do not have any involvement) and assist you in negotiations to reach an agreement on divorce or separation
- Advise you upon applications for school fees or further education
- Advise you upon Parental responsibility for unmarried couples
